Beauty Essentials

Beauty Essentials

It's been far too long since I've last updated you with my beauty essentials - a few things have remained (loyal through and through!) and a few new favorites have earned their spot in my own personal beauty hall of fame.  Because I have little time to waste in the morning (work awaits at the office!), my beauty routine is exactly that - a routine. A little boring, yes, but reliable and fast. And for a busy working girl on the go, that certainly counts for a lot!  Here's the rundown:
Any makeup must-haves that I'm missing? Would love to hear your favorites!

  2. I'd love to try some of these products. With my extra oily T-zone, my make up rarely lasts until noon.

  3. My makeup must-haves include:

    *NARS Laguna/Orgasm duo
    *Shu Uemura eyelash curler
    *Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
*NARS concealer (otherwise I'd scare anyone who saw me without it)

I have been meaning to try the YSL Touche Eclat, your 'rave' makes me want to take the plunge...

Btw, what happened when you skipped the Smashbox Primer? I used to use a Smashbox primer, but have done without for a few years, wondering if I should 'take it up' again.

  17. I actually found a very similar shade. I used to love the Bitten Fig shade, but now I'm hooked on their Pure Color "Hot Kiss" shade. Perfect for my Asian complexion.

  23. I love the colors you use! That Chanel quad is lovely. I recently came across this lipgloss/lipstick from Urban Decay. It's incredible. It's called "Super Saturated High Gloss lip color" in the color crush. It's not like a regular lipstick because it comes in a pencil form...and it's glossy! I'm obsessed.

  25. Aloha, Ahn! I love posts like this. It's kind of like "what's in my beauty bag" or "what's in my vanity" type of posts. We love seeing what makes you look so glowing and flawless in your photos.

Red lipstick, I did a post on my blog here on the Universally Perfect red for all skin tones, but this especially looks good on Asians, and I don't think it's because of the name: http://thereafterish.com/2011/10/20/perfect-red-lipstick-ruby-woo-mac/ - Ruby Woo by MAC.

It's a GREAT red. It's more a of a true red rather than brick-y or bluish. It's not super moisturizing because it's a long wear matte formula, so you have to wear it with a balm, but it is truly the best red for asian skin.

Great post! Love all of it. <3

  32. I change out my foundation every quarter, since my skin texture changes from one season to the next. I'm a huge fan of YSL and Chanel during the summer and spring months, and Mac and Giorgio Armani during the fall and winter months - their face fabric is just incredible and gives that velvety finish!

  40. Fashion always thinks ahead, so it is perhaps easier to predict trends in what people will be wearing than in any other field. Whether the style is that of wedges, flats, sneakers or boots, christian louboutin peep toe heels are meant for all seasons. To wear christian louboutin peep toe heels is to appreciate style. Women have a wide range to choose from. Christian louboutin peep toe heels would look great with a skirt or a sexy dress.
