Truth be told, I've fallen head over heels for Savannah.  Much like the time I traveled to Charleston and was absolutely smitten with the town and its southern charm. Except Savannah has mystery, intrigue and something spectacular I can't quite put my finger on.  It might be the bit about the history: pirates, greed, corruption...  Always a sucker for interesting stories! ;)

I dined at the Olde Pink House and at the Mansion on Forsyth Park and made sure to consume all of the things you need to consume while you're in the South (everything deliciously fried with grits and collards!).

Simple sheath dresses are an instrumental part of my work wardrobe.  I wear this gray one all. of. the. time.  In fact, I wore it on Monday with doubled up black tights, a black belt, cardigan and coat for my long flight to Chicago. 

I'll be touching down on two more cities before I find myself back in San Francisco... long week ahead!

Last week:

• A swanky CU Alumni Event at the Legion of Honor (and hubby got to meet their new football head coach - big deal, friends, big deal!)
• An evening glass of wine with Dejana - excited to see what she brings to the city, after shooting street style in Toronto for the last year!
• Amazing tapas dinner with 3.5 of my lady friends in Palo Alto (the 0.5 happens to account for the cutest little lady, Mia.  Not yet 4 years old and already learning the meaning of a girls dinner night out!)
• Lovely weekend with the in-laws, which meant we ate, ate, and ate our hearts out.  My mother-in-law beat us all in our NCAA Basketball tourney pool.  Don't know if it hurts more that I lost or that we've already been able to determine the winner before the final four even begins their games. Ouch!

A lovely new ring to add to my small but growing collection.  It didn't take me long to throw it on and designate it as one of my favorites - and it's a welcome change from my recent obsession with large stone rings.

Now I'm obsessing over this, this and (ok, I'm still yearning for large stones too) this. =)

At the outdoor patio of the Westin Verasa Napa.  It was veritably freezing outside, but we only had a short elevator ride downstairs from our room to dinner at the adjacent La Toque.  Plus the pre-dinner wine had warmed me up, just a bit. ;)

This jacket is an instant favorite and if you live near an H&M I highly recommend it!  It caused quite a stir (on both the blog and twitter) when I first wore it here and trust me, it's warranted!  Thick and sturdy fabric, partially lined (although the lining is unnecessary with fabric like this...), modern cropped cut and H&M's lovely $59 price tag.

Happy Monday! 

I took the day off to celebrate my birthday properly with a 3-day weekend!  So much to share with you but suffice it to say (for now) that I've had a fun-filled last couple of days which included a bachelorette party with the girls in the city and an overnight getaway to Napa with the hubby and our pups.  Photo diary to come, but here's a little sneak peak...

My new wrinkled faux leather vest from Alainn Bella adds just the right amount of tough-girl attitude to this outfit (compare it to this outfit here!)  It's lined in leopard print (obviously, love!) and looks more expensive than its $52 dollar price tag (and 15% off if you use code "9to5Chic"!).  I've also been wearing it as an additional layer under my jackets - vests are great at providing extra warmth without the extra bulkiness.

The lovely team over at Sunglass Hut sent a handwritten note and a pair of these cool Ray-Ban foldable wayfarers as a thank you for participating in the Full Time Fabulous blogging contest in December.  I'm convinced that they're just a wonderful company - every part of the experience has been handled with such thoughtfulness and kind consideration for the bloggers!  I was honored to be a part of it and being showered with gifts is just the icing on the cake!

Unfortunately, the wayfarers are too small for my head (surprise, surprise).  So rather than let a pair of perfectly great sunnies sit unloved, I exchanged them at my local Sunglass Hut store for these D&G's!  You'll be seeing them on the blog often, I'm sure!

Good morning!

I've just booked a short trip to Chicago and a longer but intensely grueling trip to Denver over the next few weeks.  On the plus side, I'm traveling the lengthy flights to/from Chicago with our VP Sales and we've been upgraded to Business class.  Snazzy.  ;)

I tend to keep the window shade down while flying (most of the time to try, rather unsuccessfully, to catch up on some shut-eye).  But doing so puts me at risk of losing out on beautiful sights like this...

Happy Thursday!!  

I'm in Phoenix now for work and it's amazing to be in 85 degree weather.  Wore my new Alaia open-toe heels all day today (happily, I might add) and no jacket was required even into the evening.  For me, weather plays a huge part in how I feel for the day.  I dread everything when it's rainy and I'm excited for everything when it's sunny.  Obviously I would not survive outside of California! ;)

This trip marks the end of my 5-week travel schedule, and, barring any last-minute emergencies, I might actually be home all 5 workdays for the next week or two!  All this travel may sound glamorous, but it isn't really.  Working in the field for me usually means longer hours - earlier mornings and later evenings.  And even with later evenings, I go back to my hotel room and have to deal with the flurry of emails that made it into my inbox that day.  No complaints, just the truth.
