GRAND FINALE VIDEO!!!

As I planned out my final few posts for Sunglass Hut’s Full Time Fabulous Blog-Off, I couldn’t help but feel a wave of emotions.  Nostalgia (already? yes!), excitement, love (from all of the generous support from my readers and friends), empowerment (hey, if I can perform the juggling act like I did this past month, I can do anything!), complete joy and pride.

I’m beaming -- and it has nothing to do with the January outcome, whatever it may be.

This has been a wildly fun ride, all thanks to Sunglass Hut and you, my friends, readers and supporters.

5th Assignment for Full Time Fabulous!

2010 was fabulous in so many regards, but there’s no time to look back when there’s so much to look forward to!  2011 promises to be yet another wonderful year for fashion (oh but it always is, for us fashion-minded folks), and a few of the key words that stand out in my mind are:

*All backstage fashion show images in this post are credited to amazing photographer Greg Kessler and have been posted with his permission.  Please visit his blog:  www.gobackstage.blogspot.com

Here’s a closer look at a few things I can’t wait to wear in 2011:

Zesty Orange. Just as last year was filled with shades of olive, orange is going to take 2011 by storm.  A vibrant, shocking and happily sunny storm, that is.  I’m going to love picking up some bright & cheerful orange pieces to freshen up my wardrobe!

Fancy Florals. New and old, small and big, soft and bold.  They were all represented on the runways and they’re all begging to be worn.  Better yet, join in on the Eclectic Prints trend and mix them up, either with each other or with another fun print!

Minimalist Neutrals. Neutrals still rang loud and clear, especially crisp whites and cremes.  There is no better time to invest in [yet another] perfect white blouse.  You can never have too many!  (And how fabulous are those Stella McCartney shades?!?  Shall we be seeing them at the Sunglass Hut soon, hmm?!?)

Longer Hemlines. Working ladies, rejoice!  In 2011 you’re going to be blasted with so many options of wide-leg trousers and skirts (pleated, full, wispy, structured…) and nearly all are at work-appropriate lengths!  I have my eye on those demure calf-length skirts and dresses.

So, what are you looking forward to wearing in 2011?  Share in the comments!

Wearing Now: Pleats, Velvet, Ruffles and Chiffon

Blouse – ADAM by Adam Lippes, Skirt – Pins and Needles, Necklace – J.Crew, Coat – Milly, Purse – Chanel, Heels – Proenza Schouler

Happy Wednesday, friends!  Thank you so much for your overwhelmingly positive response on The Traveling Sunglasses post featuring Chloe from TheChloeConspiracy.  I knew you’d love it, how can you not love Chloe?  And did you see what she had to say about the experience too? :)

Today I’m donning all black.  I’ve learned that simple one-color dressing doesn’t have to be boring: I make it interesting by mixing textures (pleats, velvet, ruffles and silk chiffon).  I’ll be heading out to dinner to celebrate a day of sunshine in San Francisco!  Hope you have a wonderful day!

Traveling Sunglasses: Featuring TheChloeConspiracy!

Receiving the gift of ten pairs of designer sunglasses from Sunglass Hut was an amazing treat!
I’ve worn them on Lanikai Beach, Waikiki Beach and along the main strip in Honolulu.  I’ve paired them with a sold out Lanvin for H&M dress, with my favorite leather and leopard combo, with my take on the longer hemline trend, and I took them for a spin on a rainy day in SF.

But that’s not enough for these special shades – they want more.

And I wanted to share the Full Time Fabulous fun with one of my favorite bloggers too.  So the Traveling Sunglasses made their way up to beautiful Colorado where the exuberant, always stylish and (belly-achingly) laughter-inducing Chloe from The Chloe Conspiracy had a chance to share her take on how to style 10 fabulous pairs of shades (husband, chihuahua and all!):

The lovely Chloe from The Chloe Conspiracy models my Full Time Fabulous Vogue, Versace, Burberry, Ray-Ban, D&G, Prada, Persol sunglasses from the Sunglass Hut, and her own vintage YSL sunglasses.  Chloe’s Husband models Tory Burch sunglasses from the Sunglass Hut.

Final Assignment: Holiday Sweaters

See the video here!

Holiday Photo Diary

As with most family holidays, ours revolved around FOOD – and food was certainly in abundance over the weekend.  The many dishes of homemade goodness were joined by classic holiday music, festive trees, gifting and a lot of chatter all around.

Hope you’re enjoying your weekend!

Wearing Now: Long Dress & Leather

Leather Jacket – Theory, Dress – H&M, Belt – J.Crew, Scarf – Urban Outfitters, Shoes – Giuseppe Zanotti, Purse – Chanel

Happy Friday, friends!  I’m anticipating a big, big meal with family this evening (tapas night!) and I’m fully prepared in this loose and stretchy long dress.  Plus the belt has room to grow! ;)

You might remember the dress from my trip to Hawaii.  Yes, I do wear and re-wear everything in my closet – and now I’ve literally taken it from the beach to the rain!  The leather jacket is an old happy standby: buttery soft with comfy jersey lining.  I think the only thing this outfit is missing are these (and they’re on sale!!).  Perhaps a last minute add to my holiday wish list?!?

Wearing Now: Knit Sweater & Portland Photo Diary

Knit Jacket & Boots: Zara, Sweater – H&M, Jeans – Forever21, Purse – Chanel

I’m in Portland for the holidays!  We spent the morning finishing up some last minute shopping at Powell’s Books (a veritable city of books!), the Pearl District and Pioneer Square.   My fellow last-minute holiday shoppers were out in full force (all with determination in their eyes!) and we were so lucky to be without rain!
What else is on the agenda this week? Family time, food time and football bowl game time!!!  ;)

Wearing Now: D&G Sunglasses

Sunglasses – D&G via Sunglass Hut, get yours here for only $134.95 Blouse – Tucker for Target, Necklace – J.Crew, Trench & Umbrella – Burberry, Trousers and Boots – Zara, Purse – Chanel
Cropped trousers have ruled my fall/winter wardrobe (nevermind the cold ankles; some things must be sacrificed for personal style!) and these D&G sunnies joined me for my rainy day stroll.  They have a soft brown gradient lens that block just the right amount of light for this kind of day.

I’ve been running around Union Square and the mall the last couple of nights trying to catch up on my holiday gift shopping – shipped some of the goods today and packing the rest for my trip to Portland!  Hoping to make 9 nieces and nephews very happy this holiday.:)

So, how have YOU done on your holiday shopping?  Done?  Just starting? Share in the comments!

Wearing Now: Prada Sunglasses & Lanvin for H&M

Sunglasses – Prada, get yours hereDress – Lanvin for H&M, Layered Necklaces – Madewell & J.Crew & Forever21, Booties – Giuseppe Zanotti, Purse – Chanel

These are the sunglasses featured in Prada’s current ad campaign (and in Sunglass Hut stores now)!  They’re a flirty, futuristic take on cat-eyes and a perfect companion for my Lanvin for H&M dress.  I adorned myself with three layered necklaces and kept it otherwise simple with black booties.  There’s not much else to do when you have the sunglasses and the dress!!!

As many of you are likely preparing to head out for the week, I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful, happy & healthy holiday season.  Travel safely (and preferably while donning your favorite pair of shades)!

I’ll definitely be posting daily as usual – so check back in!  ;)

Wearing Now: Persols & Longer Hemlines

Sunglasses – Persol via Sunglass Hut, get yours here! Skirt – JF & Son, Blouse & heels – Zara, Belt – J.Crew,  Tights – H&M, Coat – Vintage, Purse – Yves Saint Laurent

Happy weekend everyone!  I’ve been to Philly and back in the last 36 hours, a trip that marks the 5th consecutive week of travel for me!  But no complaints here! The combined 20,000+ miles have been for both fun & work – it has all balanced out fabulously well.  :)

After seeing longer hemlines on the runways, I couldn’t wait to try it out myself.  I picked up this lovely calf-length skirt in SoHo and paired it with POLARIZED Persol sunnies from Sunglass Hut.  The Persols are downright classics!  Handmade in Italy with a tortoise shell frame, they feel amazing on and are perfectly soothing for sensitive eyes (polarized lenses means no more glare!).  I’m ready to take on winter & the winter sun in this get-up!  =)

The always cool and classic Ray-Ban aviators came out with me as I rocked a combination of leather and leopard (yes and yes!).  Aviators are a no-brainer – they always match no matter what you’re wearing.  And with the seemingly endless varieties of frame color and lens color, there truly is something for everyone!

Wearing Soon: Lanvin for H&M

Almost a month after its original launch in stores (which I sat out, fearful of the lines and crowds), someone made the mistake of returning THE dress.  In MY size. This dress does not need an occasion - it is an occasion.  And I’ll admit it.  I boogied into it as soon as I got home!  It is the flirty-est dress I’ve worn yet (but this preview surely doesn’t count as a “wear?”).   J’adore!

Put Them On! Sunglass Hut Fun

Did you know that almost 100 Sunglass Hut Stores nationwide have an awesome interactive photo kiosk so that you can see how different shades look on you?  That’s right my friends, try before you buy (and have fun while doing it!)!

Put them on, snap a picture, compare your top picks & share with the world (or not – sharing is your decision!).  You can see all of the shared photos at the Social Sun Photo Gallery.

I’ve had some fun kiosk time recently and encourage you to do the same (find your nearest Social Sunglass Hut Kiosk Location here!).  Keep in mind that more stores are being rolled out every week, so check back to see if your location adds theirs!

I'm wearing a Dolce & Gabbana leopard print top and Dolce & Gabbana floral skirt (you've seen the skirt before here and here) and Brian Atwood heels.

Assignment 2: New York & Fashion

New York is a mecca of creativity, is the ultimate in diversity and is definitive in its fast-paced lifestyle.  New York is the home of fashion.

Like many of you, I participate in fashion as a fan, a hobbyist and a consumer: we all wait anxiously for the first images to be posted from each and every fashion show at Lincoln Center, 6,000 miles away.  We peruse online fashion sites and blogs for street style images of effortlessly stylish women in New York and we pick up magazines as soon as they hit the rack to read the editor’s take on next season’s trends.  Our appetite is insatiable.  New York is where we look for inspiration.

In San Francisco, my take on fashion is going to be different than yours (whether you are in Phoenix, Chicago, San Antonio, Charlotte…).  And no matter how far or wide it reaches, each permutation of that style or trend is still going to be able to trace its roots back to New York.   New York is where it all starts.

We are all part of fashion (observers and insiders, creators and consumers) and we all look to New York.  New York never disappoints.

Wearing Now: Weekend Black & Gold

Silk blouse – Zara, Skinny jeans & necklace – Forever21, Jacket – Arden B, Shoes – Proenza Schouler, Purse – Chanel

It might have been a whirlwind week (3 fabulous days in NY followed by 2 intense days in the office) but I’m not stopping yet!  I joined my colleagues over Cuban food and champagne for our Friday night company holiday party, feasted on dim sum brunch with my lovely grandma, shopped Santana Row (a gorgeous walking mall in the middle of Silicon Valley), and cheered on the Chicago Blackhawks at HP Pavilion.   There’s even more Full Time Fabulous planned for Sunday too! =)  Hope you’re enjoying your weekend!

Wearing Now: Buttoned Up

Trench coat – Burberry, Tunic/blouse – Zara, Necklaces – Madewell and Banana Republic

I’m always looking for an instant update to my daily dose of blouses.  My new favorite thing?  Wearing ‘em all buttoned up!   And to soften the masculine look, I just add a touch of neck decor from my jewelry box.  Total investment for the new look?  Nada.

What have you been doing lately to give your wardrobe an instant update? Share in the comments!
