Happy Halloween!

Bonjour & Happy Halloween from a Parisienne!  Last night with hubby and friends was too much fun - I had forgotten what it was like to dance the night away (excellent workout, as always!).

As an ode to my French company, my favorite city and my family history, I threw on a navy & white striped dress (hemmed just a tad shorter than knee length), red stretchy belt, a red beret and an oversized red bow scarf.  And the ever classic Chanel, of course.

What were you for Halloween?

Coffee Break Craving: YSL Ring

This Yves Saint Laurent ring style has been out for quite some time now but Saks just released this exclusive color, and boy is it lovely!  So lovely, in fact, it's making its way onto my holiday wish list, pronto!  (Wishlisting can start before November hits, right?)  =)

Weekend Wear: Dusting off the Flat Boots

 Trench - Burberry
Shirtdress - Zara
Belt - J.Crew
Boots - Via Spiga
Purse - Chanel

My flat over-the-knee boots from last winter have been dusted off to serve another cold & rainy season.  A few other things I'm pulling out from the back of  my dressers and closet?  Sweaters, turtlenecks, tights... It seems like you can never have enough warm clothes when all you feel is cold, cold, cold!

Hope you're having a great week!

Wearing Now: Lotsa Leopard

Blouse - Thrifted (Sf Vintage Expo)
Skirt - H&M (very old)
Belt - Forever21 (came with a skirt)
Heels - Yves Saint Laurent

Whoa, I've been feeling brave lately, and let me number the ways:
  1. I chopped off my hair (ok, only 5 or 6 inches - but that's still a lot for a longtime, long-haired gal!)  (and I promise, promise, I will try to have a hair curling tutorial soon!)
  2. I'm sporting this mixture of leopard prints to the office (yes, indeed.)
  3. ...and I avoided both the Saks & Sephora Friends & Family discounts. (That's a pretty big deal.)
And still itching for the right pair of chocolate brown booties at the right price, I've recently tried on a few pairs.  This one was too wobbly to walk in, this one didn't come in chocolate (but, boy do I looooove it) and these (in a gorgeous nude patent leather), quite frankly, aren't boots.  Silly me.

What's one fall item you've been lusting after but can't quite find?

Wearing Now: Knit Cape for Work

Navy blouse - Rachel Rachel Roy
Cropped trousers - Zara
Belt - J.Crew
Knit cape - Zara
Heels - Proenza Schouler
Purse - Yves Saint Laurent

One of my hubby's best buddies is in town this weekend and will be staying with us - I'm going to rock these 6" heels all weekend long (hubby is 6'5 and buddy is 6'2)!  I'll definitely need the extra 6" if I want to join in on any of the conversation!  =)

Hope you have a great weekend!!

Afternoon Craving: Oxford Flats

I've been craving a pair of oxford flats for quite some time now...and today, craving no more - I picked up this pair from Lord & Taylor (and took advantage of their 25% off Friends and Family sale too)!

After taking an impromptu day off yesterday, I'm reporting back to work today and fully convinced that every Tuesday should be a day off.  All in favor say aye? =)

Weekend Wear: To the Pumpkin Patch

Jacket - Zara
Jeans (not shown) - Forever21
Flats (not shown) - Elie Tahari
Purse - Chanel

I've been frequenting my local Zara all too often.  And then they tempt me with these online, quite possibly the most perfect pair of brown lace-up ankle boots I've seen.   Unfortunately, they're not available in the store (I should know, I've called a few times and visited a few more times to inquire).  Have you found your perfect pair of boots for this season?

Weekend Wear: Knits & Florals

Knit capelet - Zara
Floral dress - H&M
Olive tights - Zara
Heels - Proenza Schouler
Purse - Chanel

Finally, something to satisfy my craving for a cape-like frock! Easy to throw over just about anything, this knitted and cropped version is sufficiently warm enough for the transitional weather we're experiencing.  The dress was a must-buy at just $14.95 - that it happened to be in fall florals with romantic chiffon ruffles was icing on the cake.

And, if you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen that I finally threw on my olive tights.  Olive tights might have been a good idea theoretically...But I can't help feeling one of two things when they're worn during the day:
  1. I'm a green alien with green alien legs, OR
  2. I'm Robin Hood, "we're men, we're men in tights..."
Perhaps I'll let you decide one day when they star in my next daytime outfit post.  =)

To the Pumpkin Patch

We headed out of the city for the Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival but quickly found that there were too many people and too narrow of streets - a difficult combination for our little dogs.  The disappointment didn't linger long though, and we fell upon this sweet little Pumpkin Patch along the Pacific Coast Highway.

For me, this signals the start of all things holiday.  Can't deny the giddy feeling I get thinking about it. =)

Techy Talk: Going External

500 GB WD External Hard Drive

I finally picked up an external hard drive for my blog photos and files (long overdue!).  External hard drives are awesomely portable and light - and pack serious Gigabyte power!

Now - what if I lose this gadget and a stranger happens to discover these endless, silly images and outtakes of one person in hundreds of different outfits?  LaughableAbsolutely! =)

Have a lovely weekend!!!

Weekend Wear: Silk Crepe de Chine

Blouse - ADAM by Adam Lippes
Skirt - Tucker for Target
Belt - Urban Outfitters
Booties - Giuseppe Zanotti
Purse - Chanel

This blouse has quickly become a favorite for both its flowy cut and silk crepe de chine fabric.  I ordered it in another color via www.shopADAM.com but with no success.  The color advertised was a lovely punchy, poppy red, but the color shipped was a bright, hot fuchsia pink.  I applaud their customer service, however, because within a week I received a hopeful replacement.  This time, it was bubblegum pink.  I've sadly returned them both (awaiting the refund) and now I'm on the hunt for that perfect red silk blouse.  Do you know of any contenders, my fabulous shopping friends?   =)

Wearing Now: Mixing Dots

Silk blouse - Diane von Furstenberg (from my sister!)
Polka dot skirt - H&M (recent find)
Velvet pumps not shown - Brian Atwood
Purse - Chanel

These are the biggest polka dots I've worn...ever.  But stepping out of your comfort zone every once in a while can be a good thing and sometimes even a great thing.  Other items I've initially felt were out of my comfort zone?  Skinny jeans, horizontal stripes and bright pink lipstick just to name a few, and now big, fun polka dots!

Have you stepped out of your comfort zone lately?

Wearing Now: Black & White

Black Trousers - J.Crew
Silk Blouse with Lace Pocket - Barney's Co-op
Flats - Gap City Flats
Purse - Chanel

Hello, friends!  How are you?  It's been a busy several weeks for me which involved a trip to Nashville for work, San Diego to see family and friends, Boulder for a football game and Orlando for a long and grueling work week!

With all of that behind me now, I'm anxious to get back to my regular blogging schedule and desperately need to catch up on all of my daily must-read blogs!  What have I missed?!   Apparently, a lot! =)

Hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!

Weekend Wear: Chambray and Metallic Brocade

Shirt - Levi's
Skirt - Tucker for Target
Belt - J.Crew
Heels - Giuseppe Zanotti
Purse - Chanel

After the exciting game on Saturday (the Buffs beat Georgia!!), we headed out for celebratory dinner & drinks in Boulder.  I changed out of my Buffs gear but like a true fan, committed to Black & Gold in the form of this metallic brocade skirt from the Tucker by Target line.

I was not a fan of this skirt when I saw it online but it definitely caught my eye in the store.  It's a great metallic piece to add to my wardrobe (which is seriously lacking in metallic pieces).

Thanks for visiting - I love reading all of your comments! =)  Happy Wednesday!

Weekend Wear: Comfy Neutrals

 Sweater - Forever21
Skirt - Missoni
Necklaces - Madewell & Forever21
Shoes - Miu Miu
Purse - Yves Saint Laurent

Happy Monday!  A sweet reader asked if I plan to wear these Miu Miu's through Fall/Winter with tights - and yep, I sure will!  Which means I probably should have opted for the navy tights first.  These shoes have been so much more versatile than I ever thought they would be!

Coloradans might recognize the Flatirons in the background.  Taken at the St. Julien balcony in Boulder over the weekend!  =)
