Wearing Now: Vintage Silk Escada Blouse

Blouse - Escada, vintage find
Skirt - Missoni
Belt - Miu Miu
Necklaces - Madewell & J.Crew layered
Heels - Christian Louboutin
Purse - Chanel

I found this top in Boston at a cute little vintage-thrift store along one of the cross streets between Newbury and Boylston.  They had amazing vintage jewelry but in the end it was this flowery silk blouse that came home with me.  It's a bit big but it's in impeccable condition.  I'm thinking of altering the sleeves so that I don't have to worry about rolling them up each time I wear it and today I actually have safety pins securing them in place!

Happy Wednesday!

Coffee Break Craving: Classic Sheath Dress

I've been on a hunt (for what seems like ages) for the perfect work-appropriate sheath dress.  Preferably with sleeves, not too tight, knee-length and cut from a substantial and elegant fabric.  Conservative in black or navy or gray.  On sale or reasonably priced.  That's not asking for too much, is it?  I'm still sheath-less, so perhaps it is!

Do you have the perfect sheath dress?  What made it perfect for you?  And, where did you find it? =)

Wearing Now: Silk Printed Blouse & Pink Pencil Skirt

Blouse - Diane von Furstenberg
Skirt - Jean Paul Gaultier
Camisole - Gap
Shoes - Brian Atwood
Belt - J.Crew
Purse - Louis Vuitton

My mom gave me this lovely silk DvF blouse over the weekend because it had been hanging in her closet unworn.  Thanks, Mom!  It stood no chance in my closet, however, less than 48 hours later it's being happily...worn.  Of course. =)

I had a great weekend that ended with a trip to Target.  Stocked up on travel size everything plus a disposable underwater camera to capture the action while snorkeling.  Hawaii-bound in t-minus 4 days!!!

Hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Weekend Wear: Spending Summer in Navy

Blouse - Rachel Rachel Roy
Shorts - Zara
Necklaces - Madewell & J.Crew layered
Shoes - Miu Miu
Sunglasses - H&M

An outfit of almost entirely new acquisitions (very rare, very rare!) - and I'm almost certainly in love with each and every piece.  This navy blouse is silky, slouchy and perfectly unique with side ties along the sleeves.  There's also a bra strap holder so there's no fear of extracurricular activities due to the low, low cut... The shorts reminded me of the Spring/Summer pieces on Celine's runway, leather trim and all - except at $39.99 it didn't break the bank.  The Madewell necklace was a Boston find and the sunglasses?  Ah, the sunglasses.  Finally a pair of wayfarer style sunglasses to fit my huge noggin.  Thanks, H&M, thank you very much.

Enjoyed dinner with my parents in Santana Row last night and we left Santa Clara at 78 degrees and drove into the city where it promptly turned into 58 degrees.  Like Mark Twain once said, "the coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco."

Happy weekend friends!

Coffee Break Craving: Elizabeth and James Print Blouse

  1. It's a silk shirt (so of course I want it)
  2. The print is adorable
  3. The color is called "Off-White Luck Horseshoe Print"
I've been saying it for some time, but really now, Vegas is certainly calling my name.  And if it is, then I certainly must show up wearing this lucky print!!

Wearing Now: Silk Shirt & Trousers

Silk blouse - J.Crew
Necklace - J.Crew
Belt - J.Crew
Trousers - MaxMara
Heels - Giuseppi Zannotti

Another standard work uniform (tucked-in silk blouse, long wide-leg trousers), and with a cheery color like mango, I can't help but feel cheery myself.  Plus it's Friday!  Happy Friday!!!

Wearing Now: Back to Work I Go

Blazer - DKNY
White t-shirt - Forever21
Skirt - BCBG
Belt - Urban Outfitters
Shoes - Christian Louboutin
Purse - Chanel

I spent the last 72 hours in awful, miserable, food poisoning-land.  The only upside?  Experienced jointly with my hubby.  Gross, I know.  But it's oddly comforting when someone says they know exactly how you feel...and they actually do [insert evil witch laugh here...belonging to the person who didn't wash their hands when they prepared our pizza at Boston Logan Airport].

On to better topics, like sales!  My H&M sparrow print blouse is on sale for $15!  Score it while you can, there were plenty at the SF Powell Street location.  And Barney's is having their second mark down sale... I walked away empty handed - but not without asking to see if the Miu Miu halter clogs I had purchased were still available (none in the whole company, a minor consolation for having just paid $100 more for the same pair 3 weeks ago).  But alas, this is the nature of sale-season shopping:  gotta pull the trigger early or take your chances late.  =)

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Boston Part 2

A few more images from Boston!

I took the Old Town Trolley Tour (twice), lunched at Atlantic Fish Co and Paramount on Charles Street, dined at Douzo for sushi, Neptune for lobster rolls, crab salad and oysters (twice), enjoyed a loungey evening at MiniBar, Bacco for drinks in the North End while waiting 2 hours for seats at Neptune (...but so worth it), another dinner at Sonsie on Newbury, watched the Celtics v Lakers game at McGreevy's, a few drinks at Dillon's, and a lot of park time in the Boston Public Garden.  It was fantastic.

Boston!!

I. Love. Boston.  To the friends and readers that have given me suggestions for places to go and see - THANK YOU!  I've only been here 24 hours and every recommendation I've had a chance to follow has been spot on (and I still have quite a lot of time to get to all of the other areas!)!

So far, I've enjoyed dinner at Neptune in the North End, a long daytime stroll along Newbury all the way to the Boston Common, lunch at Stephanie's on Newbury, Copley Square and Boylston... Still so much to do so I better get going!  =)

Weekend Wear: Dinner Date

Silk ruffle blouse - J.Crew
Skirt - Missoni
Necklace - J.Crew
Belt - Forever21
Shoes - Miu Miu
Purse - Chanel

A couple of old staples (silk blouse, pencil skirt, purse) mixed with a couple of newly acquired accessories (necklace, belt, shoes).  One of my favorite things about J.Crew's silk tank blouses are the bra strap snaps - they keep them in place perfectly!  And the shoes?  They are SO SO SO comfortable.  When I mentioned in the previous post that I wanted to wear them all the time... Well...I actually did.  Pretty much all weekend.  =)

Wearing Now: Dress & Boyfriend Blazer

Boyfriend blazer - DKNY
Dress - H&M
Belt - J.Crew
Heels - Brian Atwood

Good morning and happy Monday!  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  SF blessed us with amazing weather and I enjoyed a few lovely days in the sun.  It was even warm enough to enjoy a late dinner outside on Belden Lane Saturday night with Michele and the hubby (no sweater or jacket needed!).  Definitely a first time ever for me in this city.

Gearing up for what should be a few busy days in the office, but looking forward to tonight's dinner with Dorothy and Michele.  =)

Have a great day!
